Flat Stanley Visits FL

After deciding maybe the sand was a bit better than the snow, Flat Stanley decided to go visit some friends in Florida.

He had lots of fun with his new friends. He started out his stay by going to kindergarten in Lithia, Florida.

Afterward, he played at the park; he had lots of fun on the slides.

Later he got to go help pick a Christmas Tree for his friends' home. He picked a really great one! (Coincidentally, the tree he picked was imported from Western North Carolina -where Flat Stanley is from!)

Of course what trip to Florida would be complete without playing in the sand at the beach?!

He had so much fun with his friends in Florida!!

Flat Stanley Visits NM and CO

After leaving Oregon, Flat Stanley decided to stay on the West Coast and visited Colorado and New Mexico. While he was there, the snow fell and his friends decided to take him to the ski slopes! It was quite the adventure!

He did get to see the non-snowy landscape of New Mexico while he was there too! He didn't know which he liked best, the snow or sand!

Flat Stanley Visits Portland, OR

After departing from Virginia, Flat Stanley headed out to Portland, Oregon. 

He made a quick stop at the Pittock Mansion, in the West Hills above Portland. I think he wanted to stay and live there!

The view was amazing! No wonder it is such a popular destination.

Flat Stanley Visits the White House

Earlier this week Flat Stanley got to go to the White House!

The first thing he did was jump on the Metro and rode from Fairfax, VA to Washington DC.

Next he went to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building for a "TweetUp". He was quite the Techie!

After the TweetUp, Flat Stanley continued his adventure by heading to the White House! After a Q&A with the White House Administration, he was able to go on a tour of the East Wing of the White House. It was decorated for Christmas, and was very beautiful!

He got to see the beautiful Christmas Trees,

And the White House Gingerbread House!

He really enjoyed seeing different sculptures of Bo, the First Family's pet dog!

Before he knew it, it was time to leave the White House and jump back on the train to Virginia, and then to his next great adventure!

Flat Stanley Starts his Adventure in WNC

Flat Stanley will be starting his trip here in Western NC.

He decided to take a quick trip to Lake Julian:

Then he went Kayaking on a local River:

Then he headed over to the Nature Center to see some of the awesome animals there:

If you don't know what or who Flat Stanley is, you are in for a treat!

Our second grade class is doing a really cool geography project where each child colors a "Flat Stanley" and sends him around the world to their friends and family.

Flat Stanley gets to go on adventure after adventure, meeting new people and seeing new places! While he is traveling, we get to learn about the people and places he visits!
